ILAM, June 28 : Former Prime Minister and CPN-UML Senior Leader Jhalanath Khanal cast his vote at the Rastriya Primary School Polling Station in the Suryodaya Municipality of Ilam district.
Because of the persistent raining, voters have reached the polling station with umbrella and other kind of shades. Khanal reached the polling station at around 11 am and cast his vote for electing representatives in the local level.
"Voters have been facing difficulties in reaching at the polling station as the election is taking place in the mid of rainy season. Despite the difficulties, the voters turn out is encouraging. This turn out proves that people want elections," said Khanal.
"People have cast their votes facing all the difficulties to elect representatives. Thus, the elected representatives and political parties should work for their benefit and for the development of the local units," he added.
