TAPLEJUNG, Dec 27: A forest fire which started in a community forest area in the Pathivara Temple area of Taplejung district on Saturday is still out of control.
However, the forest fire is unlikely to reach the temple, officials said.
According to Manmani Kafle, executive director of Pathivara Development Committee, the forest fire which is some 2 km below the temple area is yet to be brought under control. “There is a very thin chance for the fire to affect the temple,” he added.
Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force personnel and local people are doing their best to bring the fire under control.
