Foreign Minister Gyawali likely to visit India next month

KATHMANDU, Dec 10: Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali will be visiting India in the second week of January to participate in India’s flagship geo-political and geo-economics conference in New Delhi, sources said on Monday.

Gyawali is scheduled to deliver a speech during the annual Raisina Dialogue to be organized by the Observer Research Foundation in collaboration with India’s Ministry of External Affairs from January 8 to 10.

Gyawali has already accepted the invitation of India’s External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj for the conference, sources at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said. He is likely to leave for New Delhi on January 8.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's Foreign Relations Advisor Rajan Bhattarai also confirmed that the foreign minister is traveling to India to participate in the Raisina Dialogue.

Apart from participating in the conference, the foreign minister is likely to hold talks with his Indian counterpart, sources said.
