KATHMANDU, Nov 15: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has arrested Director General of Department of Foreign Employment Bishworaj Pandey on Monday.
The anti-graft body arrested Pandey on the charge of receiving money from manpower companies based on the statement given by officials Tripti Ballav Paudel and non-gazette officer Khadka KC who were arrested from Indreni Foodland, New Baneshwor on Tuesday with Rs one million in bribe.
“Director-General Pandey did not turn up in the office today. I heard that he has been arrested,” Director of the Department Mohan Adhikari told Republica Online.
It has been revealed that Pandey allegedly took the bribe by promising them to settle the case which is still sub-judice at Foreign Employment Tribunal.
