DHARAN, July 25: Dharan is known as the mini Brazil of Nepal. Many youths from the eastern part of Nepal, including Dharan, are the part of Nepal’s A and B division clubs. Also, since the past two decades, football tournaments like Buddhasubba Gold Cup are being organized in Dharan. Then Godholi Running Cup has also rise Dharan to fame as mini Brazil.

Likewise, aiming to utilize the summer holidays of school children, Dharan Football Fan Club organized a 10-day ‘Rio Summer Football Training Camp’ starting Sunday, at BP Ground -- Dharan. In the camp, students from five years to 18 years are participating. The organizers are surprised by the number of participants. President, Ashok Rai shared, "The number of participants has made us excited and this has also shown their love for football." 

Their training begins early in the morning, from 6 am to 8 am. The organizer has divided the participants into three categories according to their age and football skills. Former national players and current national players such as Hem Gurung, Bhagawati Rana Magar, Subash KC, Rajan Magar have been training the children. According to Brinda Dewan, President of Akhil Nepal Women Football Group this kind of training helps to grow women footballers from the grass root level.
