BAJURA, March 29: Food crisis has deepened in Bajura district owing to contractor's sheer ignorance in the supply of rice.
Himali rural municipality of the district has come across the crisis. Though the contractors had signed agreement to supply rice some six months ago, it has not been put into action to this date. Amma Lal Karki, ward-5 chairperson, said the rural municipality has been grappling with food crisis in lack of its supply.
This year the Food Corporation Bajura had approved quota for 6,000 quintal of rice for Kawadi Depot. The three contractors had signed the project long back but the depot has so far received only 1,500 quintals, said the Bajura District Administration Office.
Mekhraj Ojha, section chief at Nepal Food Corporation Bajura, said they were making follow-ups to the contractors for smooth and timely supply of food items. RSS
