POKHARA, Feb 19: National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) chairman Anup Raj Sharma has expressed grave concern over the increasing adulteration and sale of substandard daily essentials. 

Inaugurating the two-day regional conference on business and human rights organized by the NHRC West Region Office, Pokhara here on Saturday, Chairman Sharma said food adulteration and unhygienic consumables has even restricted a person's right to life. 

He called on all to be conscious regarding the protection of human rights rather than engaging in the game of accusation and counter-accusation. 

On the occasion, the NHRC Regional Office chief Surya Bhadur Deuja and president of the Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Shiva Shankar Palikhe jointly presented a paper entitled 'Business and Human Rights'. 

West Region Administrator Yam Kumari Khatiwada, Chief District Officer of Kaski, Hari Prasad Mainali and senior human rights defender Teknath Baral stressed the need of protecting the consumer rights and the human rights. RSS
