KATHMANDU, Nov 1: President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Chandra Prasad Dhakal has urged the private sector and the development partners to invest in the infrastructure development of Nepal.

In his address to an investment conference in London, he said as Nepal is seeking additional foreign capital for major infrastructure development, the country is an attractive investment destination for the foreign investors and development partners.

Regarding India's recent decision to consider hydropower as renewable energy, he said the growing Indian market has provided further opportunities for investment in hydropower projects in Nepal. Increase in demand for energy in Bangladesh has helped create an additional market for hydropower in Nepal, a statement issued by the FNCCI quoted Dhakal as saying.
