FNCCI is holding its AGM next week.
Talking to media persons, FNCCI president said prolonged conflict and instability has seriously hurt the economy and the focus of the upcoming AGM will be in fostering an environment of national consensus on economic agendas and building confidence.
The apex business body has identified industrial insecurity, political instability, strike, labor stir, power outage and poor law and order situation, as major factors behind the current economic gloom and poor industrial output.
“Unless the political parties entrusted to build consensus for driving the peace process to logical conclusion work together, people and businesses will continue to lose hope,” said Joshi, referring to its recent attempts to compel the political parties to build consensus.
Joshi also expressed hope that the government would soon resolve the long-running dispute between FNCCI and Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) over the issuance of certificate of origin.
“We are engaged in the consultation process. We hope the issue will be resolved soon,” he said.
