RUKUM, Aug 21: ‘Where to live in by abandoning home? If not, nights are to be passed without blinking eyes for a single moment. No certainty of life whether it is today or tomorrow’, this is a painful expression of Pratap Budha, 48, who managed to arrive district headquarters Musikot khalanga after walking a three day distance from Gotamkot-9, Jyamir of Rukum in search of relief and safe life.

His house buried in a landslide the same day when Budha, who was agonized with a feeling whether he will again meet his kids, wife and kins at home, poured out grief in an outburst of emotion. Along with his shelter, other ten houses swept away by the natural disaster.[break]

It is very indeed difficult for Budha as how he could manage to console and provide food, shelter and clothes to his family members reeling under helpless situation. He said though he is physically in headquarters, his mind is in Gotamkot. Such unexpected incident in the life of Budha has made him tired; however he has not yet felt harassment.

No sooner the devastating incident that swollen Karamgadh stream of Lasi VDC of Dolpa claimed nine lives of the same family by sweeping away the entire village removed from the mind, locals of Jyamire nearby the landslide-ravaged area could not do anything rather than being mute spectator of their houses buried in the landslide.

Some 28 families have been rendered homeless after an incessant rain on Thursday night.

Maybe his life today will not be that much pathetic of refugees if disaster victims like Shashi Ram Bohora who came headquarters for relief returned without anything, Budha questioned in his expression filled with agony.

Meanwhile, the local administration said it has sent letter to the centre to make necessary arrangement for relief materials to the disaster-ravaged people of Gotamkot.
