Flood takes away bridge
The construction work of the bridge being constructed with Gandaki Province Government’s investment of Rs 35 million had almost come to the final stage. According to Subedi, the significant task of the bridge construction was planned for today.
It is estimated that the rural municipality has to incur loss worth millions after the flood swept away the under-construction bridge parts.
Meanwhile, a motorable bridge connecting Nawalpur and Tanahun is reeling under a vulnerable condition due to unprecedented flooding in the Kaligandaki River after torrential rainfall. Vehicular movement has been banned in the area after the bridge slid into a risk, Subedi shared.
