ITAHARI, August 30: The families of eight persons killed in the recent flooding in Itahari have received the relief amount. Each of the deceased's family received Rs 200,000.
Out of total 12 persons who were killed in the flooding in the district, two are yet to be identified while the family of other two are yet to come in contact. So the deceased's families are yet to receive the relief amount, said Chief District Officer Gopal Prasad Parajuli.
Likewise, emergency relief materials have been distributed to 3,000 families, whose houses were destroyed in the disaster, and to 20,000 displaced families, he said. The relief items include rice, beaten rice, salt, cooking oil and noodles.
Likewise, Nepalis living in Hong Kong distributed a relief amount of Rs 40,000 each to eight families victimised by the flooding. The relief amount was handed through a local organization. RSS
