FLOOD ALERT: Major rivers below safety levels

KATHMANDU, July 8: As per the flood alert measurement, the main rivers of the country seems within average water levels. According to Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, western regions might receive slight rainfall however, some places might receive heavy rainfall as well till Monday.

Major rivers including Koshi, Narayani, West Rapti, Babai, Karnali and Mahakali could slightly exceed safety levels due to rain forecasts till tomorrow, the alert further reads.

Also there is high probability of increase in water levels of small rivers and likely to cross safety limits, according to notice issued by DHM.

In the next three days, all major rivers will be below safety levels. The DHM, nonetheless, has advised safety measures.
