Five things about Shilpa Maskey

In a conversation with My City’s Aditya Neupane, Maskey shared five interesting facts about her which many might not know.

Shilpa Maskey is one of the  renowned Nepali actress and model. Her portfolio includes range of projects including short movies, music videos and commercial photo-shoots. She was casted in Juan Pablo Rothie directorial short film ‘Shooting an Elephant’ and also appeared in American Marvel Superhero film ‘Doctor Strange’ in 2016. She has made cameo in various international films including ‘Gold’ and ‘Mission Impossible – Fallout’.


Having featured in a myriad of national and international projects, she introduced herself in the Nepali screen with her latest film, ‘The Break Up’. On the work front, Maskey is currently gearing up for the promotion of her upcoming film ‘Kagaj Patra’.

Into gym


When it comes to health and fitness, Maskey is super conscious. In order to maintain her physical fitness, she makes sure to hit two-hour gym every day. “Working out in the morning makes me feel refreshed for entire day,” Maskey shares.


Foodie


Maskey is heavily fond of foods. “I cannot resist myself when I come across junk foods,” says she. She is obsessed with sweets and being an all-time foodie herself, she tends to gain weight easily. “I can happily consume any dessert type but I make sure to work out heavily after that,” smiles Maskey.


Keen dancer


She always had a longing for dancing since her childhood which urged her to take dance lessons when she was only five. She also worked in association with Bollywood dance group ‘Bollyflex’ and performed with various international artists including Pakistani singer Atif Aslam. She is a trained ‘Odissi’ and ‘Kathak’ dancer.


Bookaholic


Maskey feels inspired by reading biography and inspirational stories. “Reading is an inspiration that further motivates me to attempt and achieve bigger,” shares she. Reading books gives her immense peace by opening doors to a different world. “Japanese writer Haruki Murakami is her favorite writer,” she asserts.


Ardent travel


For her, travelling is the best way to rejuvenate mind from hectic schedule. “Instead of traveling to crowded cities, I prefer exploring nature and I feel so blessed that I belong to such a wonderful country gifted with natural beauties.” “Travelling to rural areas and exploring the lifestyle and culture of indigenous people makes me feel at my best,” she adds.
