KATHMANDU, Nov 5: Five individuals were killed in a landslide at Nawalpur section of Kaligandaki Corridor on Wednesday evening.
According to Chief of District Police Office, Nawalpur, Prakash Malla, the deceased were buried by a dry landslide while they were at work. “All the deceased hail from Bulingtar-4 in the district,” he said.
The deceased have been identified as Gopal Garanja, 20, Chet Bahadur Magar, Tara Bahadur Lungeli, Tul Bahadur Saru, 28, and Sun Bahadur Pulami, 42.
All the five dead bodies were recovered from debris of the landslide by a team of police personnel deployed from the Area Police Office in Bulingtar with the help of local residents.
Similarly, two other workers have also sustained injuries in the incident. They both are undergoing treatment at Bharatpur.
