KATHMANDU,
The gilded figures of Gods stolen from different parts of Nepal have been repatriated from the United States.

Among the repatriated religious figures were Standing Buddha that was lost from Kwaya Bahi, Lalitpur, Padmapani Lokeswora, Chaturmukhi Shivalinga (Panchadeval Temple, Pasupati), Uma Maheswori (Ga: Hiti, Lalitpur) and Nagaraja (Bhagawan Bahal, Naxal).
As informed, the Uma Maheswori sculpture was repatriated from the Denver Museum, while Chaturmukhi Shivalinga from the Art Institute of Chicago and the remaining three images from the James & Marilynn Alsdorf Collection, USA.
Deities being retrieved allows for these sacred structures to be worshiped and put within culture again, instead of being admired through a glass. However, there are still many figures of several deities stolen from Nepal that remain in glass displays in foreign countries.
