Five helipads constructed in Myagdi

MYAGDI, Dec 27: A campaign to construct a helipad in every ward of Myagdi district for the immediate rescue of the ill people and those injured in accident as well as for disaster management has got momentum. 

Although the campaign was launched with an objective of constructing helipad in all 45 wards of six local levels of the district within two months, only five helipads have been constructed so far. 

Chief District Officer Liladhar Adhikari said that the helipads have been constructed at Devisthan of Malika rural municipality, Hidi of Mangala rural municipality-2, Pakhapani of Raghuganga rural municipality-6, Kuhun, Mahabhir and Rum of Malika rural municipality. Activities were underway to select the site for the construction of helipads in other wards. Around Rs 30,000 is estimated to construct a helipad. 

The District Disaster Management Committee has been coordinating with local levels to construct helipads around the health centres. 

The campaign to construct the helipads in wards was launched after the government started 'Air Ambulance' service for the treatment of pregnant women, infants of remote areas as well as easy and smooth treatment of those seriously injured in different incidents.
