KATHMANDU, Sept 13: Five casinos in Kathmandu have paid entertainment tax to the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC). According to the KMC, they have paid Rs 6.6 million as entertainment tax. Separately, Kathmandu Fun Park has paid Rs 1.7 million as entertainment tax.
Marriott's Deltin Casino paid Rs 2.1 million, Hotel Annapurna's Casino Palace Rs 1.1 million, Hyatt's Pride Entertainment and Recreation Rs 989,000, Solti's Mahjong Entertainment Rs 993,000 and Malla Hotel's Belin Casino Rs 1.3 million as entertainment tax to the KMC, according to a statement issued by the metropolis.
KMC had earlier issued a one-week ultimatum to these casinos to pay the entertainment tax. The metropolis also mentioned that the tax has not been paid by the Radisson Hotel's Casino Rat and Yak and Yeti's Royal Casino as they are currently not in operation.
