SINDHUPALCHOWK, July 16: Five women of a family were buried in a landslide at Phulpinkatti, Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality-4, on Thursday morning. Of them, one lost her life while four others are missing.
The landslide, triggered by heavy rainfall, buried the house of Geljen Sherpa, who survived the incident as he was away from home when the tragedy took place.

The dead body of Geljen’s wife, Nimasanmu Sherpa, 35, was recovered from the debris.
Geljen’s 80-year-old mother, 12-year-old sister Semsang, elder daughter Chhiring Ongmu,18, and younger daughter Yanzi, 16, are still missing.
Confirming the incident, Sindhupalchowk Police Chief SP Prajwal Maharjan said that a police team is about to reach the site, a two-hour walk.
According to eyewitnesses, the landslide started at around 1:38AM and the debris fell down the hill five times.
Sindhupalchwok district has reported two incidents of landslides in less than 10 days. Two people died and 20 others went missing in flash floods triggered by heavy rainfall in three different settlements along the Bhotekoshi Corridor in Sindhupalchowk at around 1AM on Thursday. Those missing in the floods have not been found yet.
