KATHMANDU, April 29: The local administration in the three districts of the Kathmandu Valley -- Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur -- imposed a week-long (April 29-May 5) prohibitory orders issuing separate notices in an apparent bid to break the terrifying chain of COVID-19 infection.
As per the orders, restriction on most regular activities except those designated as the emergency ones, has been placed effective from 6 AM, Thursday.
Following the enforcement of the orders, the streets in the Valley have worn a deserted look as a very few vehicles have been allowed. Police have maintained strict vigilance on those defying the orders. As many as 3,200 Nepal Police personnel and 500 traffic police personnel have been deployed at 56 various check-posts in the three districts, according to the Metropolitan Police Office.
