KATHMANDU, Jan 25: The persistent rain on the Wednesday morning resulting in wet outfield has washed away the first day of the Khukuri T20 Cup, the longest running cricket event in Nepal. Both matches were to be organized in Mulpani Cricket Ground. Ultimate Indoor Cricket was set to face Kathmandu Cricket Training Center in the first match of the day whereas RCA Pyuthan Challengers were set to lock horns with Shantinagar Yuwa Club. Both games were abandoned for the day. Oasis Cricket Academy will face GHCA and IOE Thapathali will play Nepal Cricket School on Thursday. The 24-day tournament will be the longest running cricket event to be ever hosted in Nepal. The final will be played on February 17 at the TU cricket ground in Kirtipur.  The non-commercial T20 event has been devised for giving young cricketers an opportunity to run shoulders with senior national and international Nepali cricket players.
