RAJBIRAJ, Nov 2: Separate incidents of fire in Saptari gutted properties worth Rs 500,000 on Tuesday. 

A fire broke out at Bisahariya – 7 and destroyed two houses belonging to Hari Narayan Yadav when firecrackers were set off as part of the Tihar celebrations. 

At Portaha – 4, a fire started from a traditional fire pit inside a cowshed of Asarfi Lohatiya Yadav. The fire went on to destroy Yadav's house and his cowshed, Area Police Office, Bhardaha said. 

The same fire also gutted a neighbouring cowshed belonging to Laxman Yadav, police said. The fire gutted clothes, food grains, cooking utensils and cash amounting to around Rs 500,000, according to the District Police Office. The fire was later taken under control by the police. RSS
