INARUWA, June 1: A fire in Gadhi rural municipality – 6 on Thursday night has gutted properties worth Rs 500,000. 

The fire broke out at the private residence of Budhu Urab and spread to his two other houses and destroyed them, according to District Police Office, Sunsari. 

Farm animals were also killed in the fire which destroyed food commodities, clothes, furniture and cash, Sunsari's Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Narayan Prasad Chimariya said. 

The fire was doused by a fire engine dispatched from Inaruwa municipality with help of locals and police. The Urab family has been rendered homeless after fire destroyed all their houses, local Kamal Kishor Sharma said. RSS
