KATHMANDU, August 10: After the tireless efforts of the security agencies, a massive fire that broke out at a shoe factory in Balaju, Kathmandu has been brought under control. The fire was brought under control only after almost 3 hours even as seven fire engines, 17 tankers and 285 security personnel were mobilized to douse it.
The fire that broke out at 11:35 am today at One World Footwear, operated by Sri Ram Pandey, in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-16 Balaju was brought under control in the afternoon.
Fire breaks out in a shoe factory in Balaju
Superintendent of Police at Metropolitan Police Range Office, Kathmandu, Dinesh Raj Mainali from District Police Office, Kathmandu, informed that the fire at the shoe factory in Balaju was brought under control with the use of seven fire engines and 17 water tankers. The fire, which started due to an electrical short, was brought under control after about three hours.
Two fire engines from Kathmandu Metropolitan City, two from Lalitpur Metropolitan City, one from Bhaktapur Municipality, one from Nepali Army and one from Tribhuvan International Airport were used to bring the fire under control.
