Find out sacred place to worship and sink into peace away from all those negativity and toxicity. Here are five popular temples to visit at Bhaktapur

Thomas S. Monson states, "I think there is no place in the world where I feel closer to the Lord than in one of His holy temples." in the general conference ‘Blessings of the Temple’. This holds true as one finds peace and see life from a new perspective. Those who are lost in the chaos of world will again gain faith and hope. If you want to find out sacred place to worship and sink into peace away from all those negativity and toxicity, here are five temples for you to visit at Bhaktapur.

Balkumari Temple: It is located in the heart of old Thimi. It is worshipped as one of the four kumaris of Kathmandu Valley. The Sindur Jatra(Vermilion Festival) starts from this temple. Around 1 Km from the Shankadhar chowk on the top of old Thimi town lays the Balkumari Temple. The temple was built in the 17th century.

Siddhikali Temple: The two-storey roofed Siddhikali Temple is located in the west of Thimi, Bhaktapur. The temple is dedicated to Lord Kali, Shiva and Ganesh which is also known as Chamunda( Goddess of Astamatrika). It is also believed that this Shaktipeeth is formed due to the falling of right eye of the corpse of Sati.  This place is located in Inayekwo, in the north west of Thimi.

Mahalaxmi Temple: It is one of the most beautiful as well as gaint temples of Madhyapur Thimi which has a lot of cultural and historical significance. It is located at Bhangutole of Bode. Although there is no information regarding the establishment of this temple, yet it is assured that it was already built before N.S. 749(1686 B.S.).

Nil Barahi Temple: It is located at the northern arena of the historical city Tigani. It is considered one among the four Barahi of the Kathmandu Valley. There is a natural stone inside the temple which represents the Nil Barahai herself. It is said that during the reign of King Vikram Sen, this deity was established over there adopting the Tantrik rituals.

Siddhi Ganesh Temple: It was established in 1888 AD by the newar communities for their good health and prosperity. The temple lies at the old newar town Nagadesh. The temple covers an area of six Aana land where a separate building has been built for devotees to stay at night and chant hymns.
