KATHMANDU, Feb 5: Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel has instructed the newly-appointed officials at Beema Samiti to step up their efforts to resolve the problems in the insurance sector and prove their tenure to be a milestone for the insurance sector.
Speaking at the oath-taking ceremony of the newly-appointed chairperson of Beema Samiti, Finance Minister Poudel asked the officials to examine the problems in the insurance sector and said that the Ministry of Finance would provide assistance, facilitation and coordination to resolve those problems.

Sishir Kumar Dhungana, secretary at the Ministry of Finance, pointed out the need for the insurance sector to maintain credibility and make the sector strong, capable and competitive.
The ministry’s Revenue Secretary Ram Sharan Pudasaini said that special emphasis should be put on increasing access to insurance and maintaining good governance in the insurance sector.
The newly-appointed chairman of Beema Samiti, Surya Prasad Silwal, expressed his commitment to work hard and work for the betterment of the insurance sector. He said that he would immediately enter the policy arena by resolving the problems that have arisen.
Secretary Dhungana administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly-appointed chairman of Beema Samiti Silwal at a program organized at the Ministry of Finance on Thursday.
