KATHMANDU, May 23: A delegation led by Deputy Vice-President for Europe, Asia, Pacific and Latin America (EAPLA) program of Millennium Challenge Corporation, Jonathan Brooks, held a meeting with Finance Minister Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat on Monday.
During the meeting, discussion was held on the overall status of implementation of the projects being implemented under Millennium Challenge Account Nepal Development Committee by Millennium Challenge Corporation, according to the Finance Minister Mahat's Secretariat.

The officials of MCC made the visit to get information about the preparation as the date of the implementation of MCC agreement is approaching (August 2023). The project should be completed within five years from the date of its implementation.
On the occasion, Deputy Vice-President Brooks expressed satisfaction over the achieved progress—land acquisition, land purchasing for the project. The two sides held extensive discussion on the remaining works to be carried out before implementing the project.
Expressing belief that this project could be an example in project management of Nepal after being completed within the deadline, Finance Minister Mahat expressed commitment to complete the project as soon as possible by concluding the important matters in the project cycle by fulfilling due legal procedures as soon as possible.
The Finance Minister expressed gratitude towards the MCC officials for visiting Nepal and holding discussion. Earlier, in a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Deputy Vice-President Brooks urged DPM Shrestha to facilitate the land gaining process.
