Female voters outnumber male in Dhangadhi

DHANGADHI, May 25: The number of female voters in the second-round of local-level election on coming June 14 is more by 7,499 than male voters in Dhangadhi.

DHANGADHI, May 25: The number of female voters in the second-round of local-level election on coming June 14 is more by 7,499 than male voters in Dhangadhi. 


According to the Regional Election Office, Dhangadhi, the number of women voters in Dhangadhi is 205,386. A total of 403,280 people have been identified as eligible voters for the June 14 election in the district.

Similarly, seven people recognised as the third gender will be exercising their franchise in the election. 


The Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City has the highest number of voters (76,430) and the Mohanyal Rural Municipality has the lowest number of voters (9,217) among the 13 local-levels (determined before the recent change in the number of local-levels) --one sub-metropolis, six municipalities and six rural municipalities-- in the district. 



The district stretching to 3,235 square kilometres of area is primarily home to Brhaman, Chhetri, Thakuri, Dalit, Rana Tharu, Dagaura Tharu and Kathariya communities. RSS
