BAGLUNG, Dec 16: Former Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Chairman of Rastriya Janmorcha, Chitra Bahadur KC has claimed that federalism was imposed on Nepal as per an Indian design. “Federalism has been imposed on Nepal as per an Indian design to split the Tarai-Madhes from Nepal and merge it into India,” KC claimed at a press meet here on Thursday.

He went on to claim that federalism will disintegrate Nepal and eventually lead to Sikkimisation of the country. “Federalism is like cancer for Nepal ,” he said, adding that federalism is not suitable for Nepal from any angle.

KC said federalism will become an unbearable burden for the Nepali economy.

The former DPM also claimed that the constitution amendment bill was registered in parliament as per India’s wish.

“The the government registered the constitution amendment bill to meet Indian requirement. Instead of resolving the current problems, it has further complicated things,” said KC.
