Department of Transport sending hoary vehicles off road

The Department of Transport Management is set to ban the operation of the vehicles running for two decades across the country to curb Kathmandu Valley's air pollution. There are around round 5,500 two decade old vehicles across the country.

NMA draws govt's attention to implement four-point agreement

The Nepal Medical Association (NMA) has drawn attention of the government to implement the four-point agreement reached on September 29, 2017. The agreement had put forth various demands including amendment of Health Worker and Security Act and increasing facilities and pays of doctors. 

Ban on mobile use, motorcycle riding for children below 16 in Siraha

Kalyanpur Municipality of Siraha has decided to ban a number of things from February 13. These include banning the use of mobile phones and riding motorcycles for children below 16,  consumption and sale of alcohol and playing provocative songs in restaurants. 

U.S. to impose arms embargo on South Sudan to end conflict  

The United States is set to announce an arms embargo against South Sudan on Friday, stepping up pressure against President Salva Kiir to end the country’s civil war and humanitarian crisis.  The unilateral move would signal that the Trump administration has lost patience with South Sudan’s warring sides after ceasefires have been repeatedly violated.
