Oli is Nepal’s 38th Prime Minister, Deuba resigns

Following his appointment, PM KP Sharma elected Lal Babu Pandit and Thum Maya Thapa as ministers. Pandit has been appointed as minister of Population and Environment, whereas Thapa has been appointed as minister of Women, Children and Social Welfare. Earlier today, Sher Bahadur Deuba had resigned from the post.

EC broaches Prez, V.Prez elections to parties

After completion of all tiers of elections, the Election Commission has, for the first time, spoke regarding elections for President and Vice President. The Election Commission plans to conduct the elections by the end of this month.

Trilochan Bhatta appointed as CM of Province-7

Trilochan Bhatta, CPN (Maoist Center) has been appointed as the chief minister of Province 7. Bhatta is the Parliamentary Party leader and had won provincial assembly election from Doti ‘B’.

Tourism receipts up 27 percent to Rs 34 billion

Nepal’s tourism receipts in the first half of current fiscal year increased by 27 percent against that of FY 2016/17. The increase in the first six months shows that earning from tourism sector contributed to Rs 33.7 billion.

Spain to announce new measures in Catalonia

Mariano Rajoy's central government is preparing to implement a new round of measures in Catalonia because the Prime Minister's plan to have a new regional executive installed this winter has failed. The new measures will seek to organise resources for the region in education, healthcare or public employment "for the next six months and the start of the autumn".
