ADB provides US$ 100 million to upgrade rural roads

KATHMANDU, Feb 12: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has agreed to provide US$ 100 million (Nrs. 10 billion) for Rural Connectivity Improvement Project.  The project will upgrade 388 kilometers of rural roads to all-weather standards, serving the agriculture sector and bring access to 7.5 million people in 16 districts.

Senior citizens demand increase in old age allowance

Senior citizens have demanded an increment in the old age allowance. A group of senior citizens have continued their sit-in protest near the Constituent Assembly (CA) building for long, demanding a 50 per cent discount on public transport fare and medical treatment as guaranteed by the Senior Citizen Act- 2006 which recognised a citizen of Nepal completing 60 years as the senior citizen.

The study, published in BMC Psychiatry, is the first systematic review of the evidence related to the comprehensive role of companion animals and how pets might contribute to the management of long-term mental health conditions.

Nepal receives 178-run target from Kenya

Nepal has received a 178-run target from Kenya at the ICC World Cricket League 2 underway at Windhoek in Namibia on Monday. Kenya made 177 runs losing eight wickets in the allotted 50 overs.
