KATHMANDU, May 22: Minister for Home Affairs, Ram Bahadur Thapa, has expressed commitment to find a long-term solution for problems being faced by construction entrepreneurs.

Speaking with a delegation of Federation of Contractors' Association of Nepal (FCAN), Thapa said that the government was ready to amend laws and regulations that are hindering the growth of construction business. Responding to issues related to insecurity and donation drive, Minister Thapa asked the contractors to directly come to the home ministry if anybody comes and ask for donation forcefully.

On the occasion, FCAN officials requested Thapa to extend completion deadline of undergoing development projects by a year taking into consideration factors like 2015 earthquakes, border blockade and shortage of construction materials, among others, the federation said in a statement.
