Father kills his 5-year-old stepson

KAPILVASTU, May 20: An intoxicated father beat his five-year-old stepson to death in Banganga Municipality-5, Kapilvastu. 

Aashish Kumal, the stepson of 26-year-old Laxman Kohar of Simalkhor, Banganga Municipality-5, died after his father beat him while drunk. 

According to the Pipra Area Police Office, the injured child died on his way to a hospital. Police Inspector Deepak Babu KC said, Kohar injured his stepson after beating him several times. 

Kumal died while he was being taken to Kapilvastu Community Hospital Jitpur. Kohor beat his stepson on Wednesday night. The child had been staying in his maternal uncle’s house which is located in Banganga Municipality-8 and had come to Simalkhor with his mother only a few days before. Police Inspector KC said that the police have arrested the accused father and have begun the necessary proceedings.
