Far West, APF to vie in final

ITAHARI, March 6: Far-western Region and Armed Police Force have fixed the title clash of the Prime Minister Cup Women's National T20 Cricket Tournament winning their respective semifinal matches played on Monday in Itahari. 

Far-western overcame Western Region by seven wickets and departmental giant APF registered a seven-wicket win over Eastern Region. 

In the first semifinal, Western was bowled out for 89 runs with four balls to spare after it elected to bat first. In reply, Far-western Region achieved the target in 17.4 overs for the loss of seven wickets.

Barsa Rana contributed 27 runs for Western Region while Saraswati Pun (13) was the other batswoman to contribute in double digit figure. Far-western's Kabita Joshi pocketed three wickets and Rekha Rawal claimed two. 

In reply, Rekha Rawal contributed 36 runs while Kabita Joshi scored 15 runs. Rekha was declared the player-of-the-match. 

In another match, put to bat first APF made 66/9 in the allotted 20 overs. Karuna Bhandari, the player-of-the-match, was the only batswoman to score in double digits with 22 runs under her belt. Saraswati Chaudhary and Sabnam Rai of Eastern Region took three wickets each. 

In the run chase, Eastern was restricted to 59 runs in 19.2 overs. Roma Thapa (18 runs) and Kajol Shrestha (14 runs) were the only players to score in double digits for Eastern. APF's Sita Rana Magar pocketed three wickets and Ritu Kanaujiya took two wickets.
