BHAKTAPUR, June 11: The family has demanded impartial investigations into the death of Assistant Sub Inspector of Armed Police Force Anup Raj Thapa, calling the death a suspicious.

The decision to take Thapa's body to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj for a postmortem without informing the family has triggered a suspicion, said the family.

Thapa of Tathali in Changunarayan Municipality-9, Bhaktapur, reportedly committed suicide by shooting in the forehead with a gun a week ago while on duty at Lajimpat-based Israeli Embassy.

Senior Superintendent of Police Bishworaj Pokharel informed that Thapa killed self by shooting in the forehead.

There were not any apparent reasons for Thapa to commit suicide, said Thapa's father Gyanendra. "The police asked us to reach Teaching Hospital after informing that our son committed suicide. There were not any clear reasons for our son to end his life. Neutral investigations should be launched," he said.

Mayor of Changunarayan Municipality Som Prasad Mishra demanded that a probe committee should be formed and fair investigations conducted. RSS
