Kathmandu, May 11: The United Nations refugee agency, UN High Commission for Refugees, has expressed deep concerns over the recently surfaced fake Bhutanese refugee scam.
While welcoming the government investigation, the agency has also clarified that its programme to resettle Bhutanese refugees in third countries in Europe and the US is already closed on December 31, 2016, and that there is no plan to resume it.
The agency has said that it has already communicated to the government authorities and stakeholders concerned about the closure of the program.
