Facebook was launched on February 4, 2004, by Mark Zuckerberg.  The sole motive behind Facebook was to bring the whole world together onto a single platform. Today if we are connected with all our friends, family, and acquaintances, it is all because of Facebook. If this social platform is used in a good way, it will spread love, motivation, and encouragement among its users. There are many introvert people who are not good at expressing themselves, and they find Facebook very useful to speak their hearts out. Facebook is helping people to be more sociable and to remain connected.

The use of Facebook is not only limited to connecting people. Facebook has a lot of active users which makes it a perfect platform to reach millions of people, at once, and this is the reason why lots of companies use this platform for advertising their products and services. The income from such promotion campaigns is the main source of revenue of Facebook.

Despite having some advantages, Facebook has also some negative sides. Facebook makes people vulnerable to fraudster and criminal who are always in the search of opportunity. Many contents are uploaded revealing facts about people without their consent. To some extent, it consequently harms their reputation in society. Keeping negative sides apart, Facebook is very popular among the youngster, who uses this medium to spread awareness. 

Facebook is not only for common people. Many people of big stature like movie icons, business tycoons, or higher influential people use this platform to gain popularity. They keep posting their pictures, status and interact with people.

Since Facebook is a social networking site, the responsibility falls upon all users to avoid vulgarity or anything that conflicts with the social values, and norms. We should understand that just because we are free to express ourselves on this platform, we should not use it to harm, hurt or discourage others.

The road to success was not easy for Mark Zuckerberg. In this long journey, he came across a lot of troubles. Whatever may be the case, he will be always be considered one a genius for his innovation. He made our life easier and better.
