Extreme thoughts pushed country backward: Mahat

SUNDARIJAL, May 11: Leader of the Nepali Congress, Dr. Ram Sharan Mahat, has said that the extreme leftist thought has pushed the country backward.



Addressing the greeting-exchange programme organised by the Nepali Congress Jorpati Village Working Committee here on Saturday, Mahat said the CPN-UML has left extreme leftist but UCPN (Maoist) and CPN-Maoist are still engaged in extreme leftist activities.[break]



He said Khil Raj Regmi -led election government has come into existence after Nepali politics reached a difficult situation as there exists no morality of the time of BP Koirala.



Mahat said only the Court could decide as making Lokman Singh Karki as Chief of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) was wrong.



Similarly, Central Member Dhanraj Gurung said that NC would only accept federalism with common identity and capability and democratic republic with federalism.



Constituency President of Nepali Congress Kathmandu-3, Chakra Bahadur Thakuri, said that NC should be made victorious by giving two-third votes in the upcoming election for constitution building.
