KATHMANDU, July 3: Sports experts have advised the federal government to enact a law that necessitates the recommendation of national sports associations for the registration of local and provincial sports organizations.

Former minister for Youth and Sports Purushottam Paudel and chairperson of Nepal Olympic Committee Jib Ram Shrestha have warned that if local and provincial organizations working  for the promotion of sports are registered without the recommendation of national sports organizations, it will lead to great conflict among them.

Speaking at the meeting of Parliamentary Bill Committee held on Wednesday to discuss the proposed bill ‘National Sports Development Bill, 2075’, former minister for youth and sports Paudel has said that the government should manage the registration of sports-related organizations in a way that does not result in the acrimonious relation between those organizations.

According to him, the registration of local and provincial sports-related organizations based on the recommendation of central sports organisations is essential to preempt the conflict among them.
