US dollar exceeds Rs 140 mark

Nepal Rastra Bank has set the exchange rates for foreign currencies for Thursday. According to the central bank, the value of the US dollar, Euro, and British pound sterling, among other foreign currencies, has increased compared to the previous day.

KATHMANDU, Feb 6: Nepal Rastra Bank has set the exchange rates for foreign currencies for Thursday. According to the central bank, the value of the US dollar, Euro, and British pound sterling, among other foreign currencies, has increased compared to the previous day.


As per the latest rates, the buying rate for one US dollar is Rs 139.65, while the selling rate is Rs 140.25. Similarly, the buying rate for one Euro is Rs 145.49, and the selling rate is Rs 146.11.


The British pound sterling is being traded at Rs 175.11 for buying and Rs 175.87 for selling. The Swiss franc’s buying rate is Rs 154.81, while the selling rate is Rs 155.47. The Australian dollar has a buying rate of Rs 87.76 and a selling rate of Rs 88.14. The Canadian dollar is being exchanged at Rs 97.72 for buying and Rs 98.14 for selling, whereas the Singapore dollar’s buying rate is Rs 103.52, and the selling rate is Rs 103.97.

 For other currencies, the buying rate for 10 Japanese yen is Rs 9.14, and the selling rate is Rs 9.18. The Chinese yuan is being exchanged at Rs 19.20 for buying and Rs 19.28 for selling. The Saudi Arabian riyal is set at Rs 37.23 for buying and Rs 37.39 for selling, while the Qatari riyal stands at Rs 38.30 for buying and Rs 38.47 for selling.


 Additionally, the buying rate for one Thai baht is Rs 4.16, while the selling rate is Rs 4.18. The UAE dirham is being exchanged at Rs 38.02 for buying and Rs 38.18 for selling. The Malaysian ringgit has a buying rate of Rs 31.58 and a selling rate of Rs 31.71. The South Korean won (per 100 units) is valued at Rs 9.67 for buying and Rs 9.71 for selling. The Swedish kroner is traded at Rs 12.81 for buying and Rs 12.87 for selling, whereas the Danish kroner stands at Rs 19.50 for buying and Rs 19.59 for selling.


Nepal Rastra Bank has also set the exchange rates for other currencies, with the Hong Kong dollar at Rs 17.93 for buying and Rs 18.01 for selling. The Kuwaiti dinar’s buying rate is Rs 452.66, while the selling rate is Rs 454.60. The Bahraini dinar is being exchanged at Rs 370.41 for buying and Rs 372.01 for selling. Similarly, the Omani riyal’s buying rate is Rs 362.69, and the selling rate is Rs 364.25.


 The exchange rate for 100 Indian rupees has been set at Rs 160 for buying and Rs 160.15 for selling. Nepal Rastra Bank has stated that these exchange rates are subject to revision at any time as required. Commercial banks may set different rates, and the latest exchange rates can be accessed on the central bank’s website.
