MUMBAI, June 25: Former West Indies cricket legend Brian Lara has been admitted to a hospital in Mumbai after a complaint of chest pain on Tuesday.

According to media in Mumbai, the doctors performed angiography of Lara but could not go for angioplasty as they did not feel there was any risk in angiography. However, the hospital committee did not make any comments regarding the former West Indian cricketer's health.

Lara who is currently admitted at the Global Hospital in Mumbai's Parel area had already suffered a heart attack previously.

The former captain was in India for the ICC World Cup 2019 broadcasting role for the sports channel Star Sports. One of the best cricketers of his age, Lara went into retirement from international cricket in 2007 after playing his last match against England.
