DHULIKHEL, Mar 17: Minister of State for Information and Communications Gokul Prasad Baskota has said that measures should be taken to create employment in the communications sector.
Speaking at a press meet organized by Press Chautari Nepal Kavre chapter in Banepa today, he said the communications revolution has eased human life. Hence, the achievements in the communications sector should be transformed into the prosperity of the country.
On the occasion, Minister of State Baskota also pledged to work with stakeholders including the state media-related bodies, the FNJ, media experts and other institutions to resolve the problems facing the journalism sector. He expressed the commitment to make the Nepali press sector dignified by resolving the issue of remuneration between the media workers working for the government and the private media.
Meanwhile, speaking at a reception organised in his honour by the CPN-UML Kavre district committee, Minister of State Baskota said the present left alliance government did not have time for gossip but would be action-oriented. "It is the time to meet the pledges made during the election in the next five years and all should pay attention towards that end," he said while urging for support in establishing an atmosphere that would facilitate the government's performance.
