The General Administration Minister added that the works on adjusting the government employees would be started once the Federal Civil Service Act is passed by the parliament.

"We are preparing to get the Act passed by the parliament in a prompt manner. We would also complete the adjustment process by the deadline even through an ordinance if the current parliament failed to pass the Act," he said.

Minister Pandit expressed his commitment to bring about reforms in the country's administration. He clarified that the resignation tendered by an employee who has come close to retirement age would not be accepted.

He also said the province and local levels would be made more responsible by cutting back on the volume of service given by the federal level. The Minister for General Administration warned that action would be taken against employees who failed to carry out works as per the given terms of reference.

He also insisted on having a single authorised trade union in the civil service, saying other trade unions would be dismissed.  RSS
