KATHMANDU, Dec 24: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Pampha Bhusal has said that effective policy will be formulated to reduce the import of petroleum products and increase the use of electricity.
Speaking at a press conference held at the ministry on Friday, Minister Bhusal said that a policy has been adopted to replace LPG stoves being used in the organized sector with electric stoves.

She said, “I have taken the policy of encouraging the establishment of big industries consuming electricity and using electric equipment in every sector and the promotion of electric vehicles. For that, I am having continuous discussions with government and private sector organizations. ”
"Now, even those living in rented houses can become customers by taking a separate meter from the authority and even those living in apartments and housing colonies can become customers by taking separate meters. Millions of people living in urban areas will benefit from this,” said Minister Bhusal.
She informed reporters that the work has been taken forward by making an action plan to fully electrify the country within the next two years in collaboration with Nepal Electricity Authority and Alternative Energy Promotion Centre.
