KATHMANDU, Sep 1: The Nepal Electricity Authority has announced the possibility of an eight and a half-hour power supply interruption on Saturday in various areas of Kathmandu and Lalitpur.

The interruption is projected to impact electricity distribution from the Ratnapark and Kuleshwar feeders in Kathmandu, as well as the Pulchowk and Lagankhel distribution centers in Lalitpur, potentially spanning from 10 AM to 6:30 PM.

The reason behind this planned power supply disruption is the ongoing upgrade of the Teku-Suichatar 66 KV line to a more robust 132 KV line, involving the enhancement of the Teku substation.

The authority has issued a notification indicating that contingency measures have been put in place across all feeders to minimize the extent of the power supply disruption and its impact on consumers.
