KATHMANDU, July 1: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) is set to remove the electrical poles in Kathmandu starting after six months. NEA, which is laying an underground distribution line in Kathmandu, is working to remove the overhead distribution lines.
According to NEA Managing Director Kulman Ghising, the internet wires would be removed after removing the poles. Speaking at a program in Kathmandu with the participation of internet service providers and Nepal Telecommunication Authority, Ghising urged the service providers to start preparations to use the fiber duct placed along the underground power distribution line.

Similarly, Ghising said that the NEA is now ready to get the license of a telecommunication infrastructure company. Stating that preparations are being made for the same, he said that the business of telecommunication service infrastructure is only a very small part for them.
Likewise, he said that there should not be further debate over electric pole rent. Stating that the problem should be solved by everyone together, Ghising said that the authority is ready to settle the dispute with the service providers.
