ROLPA, July 3: One of the local representatives of Rolpa has resigned from her position to work for a project.

Chadani KC, the female ward member of Rangsi, Paribartan Rural Municipality-2, quit the post she was elected to after she got a job as a social mobilizer in a project. Confirming KC's resignation, ward chief Hari Prasad Budha said, "Yes, she has resigned from her position. I have already informed the chairperson and vice-chairperson of the rural municipality." According to Budha, KC left the position after she was selected as a social mobilizer for the government's ASHA project.

When asked about the reason for her resignation, KC said, "We will talk about it later as the issue is being discussed in the local government right now." According to the locals, KC who was doing her master's degree was not happy with the kind of roles and responsibilities she was being given by the local unit which is why she was searching for another job.

Her decision has disappointed the youths who voted for her in the elections expecting she will do something for them. "We had chosen her hoping she will bring some change. However, she prioritized her job over us. This is injustice to the voters," said a local youth, adding, "She must open up
about the reason behind her resignation."
