Eight killed in Salyan jeep accident

DANG, Sept 28: Eight people died in a jeep accident in Salyan. One person was injured. The accident took place in Mulpani, Kapurkot Rural Municipality ward no. 3 of Salyan.

Chief of District Police Office Salyan, DSP Damodar KC informed Republica that seven men and one woman died in the accident. The dead have not been identified.

The jeep with the registration number Ra 1 Ja 563, which was returning from Dhakeri in Banke to Kapurkot in Salyan, fell 200 meter off the road in Ghumti area in Mulpani. The jeep was reserved and taken from Kapurkot to attend a relative's wedding at Dhakeri in Banke.

The passengers of the jeep reached Banke's Dhakeri on Tuesday morning and attended the wedding and returned home in Kapurkot at night. "Those aboard  the vehicle were on their way home after attending a relative's wedding," DSP KC said.
