KATHMANDU, March 14: Police on Saturday arrested eight persons on the charge of their involvement in black marketing of face masks.
According to police, those arrested were allegedly preparing to sell a face mask worth Rs 3 at Rs 31, ten times higher the rate.
"They were held while they were supplying 78,200 pieces of face masks from China to be sold at the higher rates," police informed Republica Online.
The group of eight in the name of Manju Shree Suppliers was found to have been involved in selling face masks and sanitizers at higher rates. The arrestees are Anish Karki and Ujjwal Adhikari of Nagarjun, store owner Mintu Tamang, Mankaji Lama of Kavre and Thumraj Upadhyay of Bajura.
Arrested from Dallu in the capital, a case will be filed against them under black marketing offence.
